Students in Ms.King’s class got rewarded with a breakfast bar gifted to them from Adams and Logan’s insurance. These students completed higher order thinking tasks based on their narrative unit in their personal time for the reward!

Last week, 7th-grade science had three labs investigating living things. Students swabbed area surfaces and grew bacteria over the week. We looked through a microscope and observed microscopic protists from pond water, and then dissected mushrooms to learn how mushrooms get their energy from decaying/decomposing organisms.

Did you know that LCMS received a state grant to become a Leader in Me School? Teachers began training yesterday on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. We will begin teaching the habits to our students in January! We are excited to help our kids and faculty to grow as we learn more!
Over the next couple of weeks, seventh graders will be visiting the hallway’s “Suspense Room”. They will read a variety of short stories and learn how different literary elements such as setting, symbolism and irony can impact the suspenseful mood of a story.

7th grade participated in a special online seminar with author Ric Riordan today! They enjoyed hearing more about the writing process and getting a behind the scenes peek behind a successful book series line "Percy Jackson."

Sixth graders are learning about ratios this week! We introduced the topic by completing a "Fruit Loop Lab."
Our Very Involved Parents (VIPs) created delicious charcuterie boxes for our staff today. It was a great treat, and we are so thankful for the support of our parents!
Mrs. Chatham's class put their knowledge of decimals to the test in order to purchase materials to build a bridge. Their goal was to build the largest weight bearing bridge. Today, they tested their weight and voted on the best design.
Mr. Gastley's 6th graders created Shark Tank Style Presentations to demonstrate a product and answer tough questions from peers.
