LCHS DECA attended UNG for the CTSO Summit
LUMPKIN COUNTY BRAVES THE MONSOON AT HOME! 🌧️🏆
Talk about defending our turf! This past weekend, the Lumpkin County Army Raiders Team braved an absolute monsoon right here at home in the Lumpkin County Stadium. Hosting the State Qualifier, our Raiders turned a muddy mess into a massive victory, competing in a stacked field of over 20 schools and 40 teams!
When the skies opened up over the stadium, the course became tough, slick, and incredibly muddy. But that’s exactly where our Raiders thrive! Embracing the grueling conditions on their home field, our squads dug deep and pushed through the sludge!
Thanks to an incredible team effort, the Raiders secured an outstanding 4th place overall in their division! Faced with elite competition and brutal elements, these athletes showed the true meaning of grit, teamwork, and Lumpkin Pride. It was difficult, it was messy, and it was an absolute blast.
Congratulations to all of our Raiders on an unforgettable performance on our home turf!

Curahee Battalion to Host Annual Tomahawk Challenge Raider Competition
The Curahee Battalion Army JROTC program at Lumpkin County High School will host its annual Tomahawk Challenge Raider Competition, bringing nearly 40 schools and more than 50 teams from across the region together to compete in one of the most demanding Raider competitions of the season.
Often described as a combination of cross-country running and CrossFit, the Tomahawk Challenge is designed to test the strength, endurance, teamwork and determination of each Raider team.
The competition will begin with a grueling 5K run over “Big Bertha,” a course featuring a notoriously steep and demanding incline. Even the most physically fit athletes find Big Bertha a challenge, making the opening event a true test of both physical fitness and mental toughness.
Following the 5K, teams will compete in a series of demanding events, including a HMMWV Pull, Tire Flip, One-Rope Bridge, Obstacle Course and Combat Casualty Rescue, also known as the Mountain Top Rescue. Each event requires competitors to work together, overcome obstacles and push themselves to their limits.
The Tomahawk Challenge is also a Georgia State Raider Competition qualifier, with teams competing for an opportunity to advance to the Georgia State Raider Competition in November at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville.
The Curahee Battalion invites all family members, friends, veterans and community supporters to come out and cheer on the Lumpkin County Raider teams as they continue their successful season.
