This week, 11 students competed at the Skills Challenge against high school CTAE programs from around the Gainesville area. This is the precursor to the SkillsUSA competition with the emphasis on construction type competitions. LCHS students did very well. A.J. Moss won 1st place with Levi Self placing third in the residential wiring competition against 16 competitors. In addition to their tools win, both A.J. and Levi won scholarships to the Independent Electrical Contractors apprenticeship program. Andrew Wayne placed second against 12 competitors in the masonry competition also winning a medal and tools. Please join LCHS and congratulate these students as they continue to refine their skills, represent their school, and pursue the careers of their dreams.
