The LCHS Mock Trial Team went to compete their 2020 Case this past weekend in Cumming, GA. Ben Kitchens received “Outstanding Witness Award” and Jonah Wade received “Outstanding Attorney Award”. Thanks to their Teacher Coach, Mrs. Elizabeth House; and their Local Attorney Coaches, Mr. John Monroe and Mr. Roger Palmour, who worked with these students! Congratulations Team!

Today LCHS visual art students visited the High Museum. While there, they viewed "Our Strange New Land: Photographs by Alex Harris", drew portions of the "Fine Lines: American Works on Paper" exhibit, in addition to touring the permanent collection.





The graduating senior with the highest SAT score on a single test date is our Class of 2020 STAR Student, Katy Carroll! Katy selected Mrs. Betsy Brown as her STAR teacher for having the biggest impact on her scholastic development! Congratulations to Katy and Mrs. Brown!


Our principals are leading by example in creating vertical awareness in our district. By trading roles today, Mr. Kirk, LCHS Principal, stepped in at Long Branch Elementary while Mrs. Mullinax, LBES Principal, served at Lumpkin Co High. There isn't a better way to understand the challenges or to observe the amazing things happening in our schools than to see it with your own eyes. #TR1BE

We are proud of the members of LCHS Theatre Troupe 5111 for their excellent performance at the Junior Theatre Festival with the Holly Performance Academy; Luke McElliott, Nikoli Smith, Madeleine Noe, Dani Bodney, Dylan Henschen and Shannon Hamilton. Also congrats to Clara Waters on her work with "Play on Players" showcasing “Newsies Jr.”. Both teams won an Excellence in Music Award.
LCHS Theatre students Kain Nash and Jason Johnson are busy working on the set for the LCMS drama production of “Peter Pan Jr.”

Ms. Westafer’s Biology class is solving a “murder mystery” by investigating the macromolecules in “stomach” contents of from their mystery victim.

Today LCHS students traveled to North Georgia Technical College to compete at the Skills USA region 2 competition. Gold and Silver medalist will compete at the state level in March. Lumpkin County once again was the leading medal winner for Region 2. Thanks for your continued support!!
