Students in seventh grade took a trip to the Lumpkin Drive-In Theater today during their ELA classes. Students got to experience the 1960’s with a classic Andy Griffith episode, popcorn and chocolate to prepare them for the upcoming novel study of The Outsiders. We are working to be better every day and to always “Stay Gold.”
7th graders got to "taste" some new books in the annual book tasting event hosted by our 7th grade ELA teachers!

8th grade STEAM students had fun making sensors that use the change in capacitance to measure the pressure of various objects and people sitting in chairs. Students designed chair cushions and used the sensor to determine which cushion was best at reducing the pressure of sitting on the seat.
Some 8th graders walked around campus this morning to enjoy the sunshine and get some fresh air before settling in for MAP Testing today!
Thank you to our VIPs (Very Involved Parents) for treating our teachers today with snacks, sodas, and iced coffee! It was a great treat to top off an awesome first week of school!

As summer break comes to an end but temperatures continue to be in the 90s, many of our youth are cooling off in swimming pools and other bodies of water. We want to encourage our families to take advantage of water safety and swim lessons at neighboring community facilities!
One more week until school begins! We can't wait to see our tribe back on campus!
Today (Tuesday, June 6th) and Thursday (June 8th), the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office will be utilizing the Lumpkin Co. Middle School campus for training purposes. Please be aware that there will be an increased presence of law enforcement at LCMS.

We were so excited today to announce the next LCMS Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Liz Stroud. Mrs. Stroud is a truly dedicated teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. She advocates for them daily, provides many opportunities for them outside of the classroom, and is a positive influence on everyone around her. This year, Mrs. Stroud's class ran our "Javability" coffee cart which sold coffee to staff members at LCMS and LCES each Friday. She is truly a prime example of a teacher and is well deserving of the title-Teacher of the Year. Congratulations, Mrs. Stroud!
We had a blast at Field Day today!
Check out the info on the Lumpkin Mountain Bike Team!
