Our "One School, One Book" initiative is going well! Everyone is hearing the story of "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind."
Mrs. Kenney took advantage of the beautiful weather to read todays pages to multiple classes!
As they have read "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" Mr Flanagan's Character Ed class decided it would be interesting to see what eating bugs would be like. This is something the characters in the book did to survive a famine. Results were mixed but these are some of the best faces.

Seventh grade did some cross curricular work today in ELA and Science classes. In ELA, students argued about whether or not pajamas are appropriate to wear in public. In Science, students took advantage of their comfy pajamas and participated in a “sleep study” where they were diagnosed with a sleep disorder before researching if their disorder was genetic mutation or a disease.
Congrats to 7th grader Clara Smith who placed 3rd in the Horse Project at Northeast District Project Achievement (DPA). We are very proud of her!
For DPA, 4-H’ers pick a project area of interest, do project work in that area throughout the year then research a specific topic, write a presentation, and present it to a judging panel. Beginning in the 7th grade competition process, youth are expected to produce lengthier presentations and submit a portfolio for written work.
8th graders are learning about the Electromagnetic Spectrum by observing different gas discharge tubes.
