"Today we read an article about how an “awe” walk can make you happier. A study was done and in the article it explains how one group was happier than the other when they went for a walk and took the time to enjoy and appreciate their surrounding environment. We read the article and wrote a claim, reason and counterclaim statement about the article’s findings/research. After the article activity, we went for a 10 minute walk to see if the claim was true for ourselves and then we came back to rewrite a new claim/reason for how we felt after the “awe” walk. The kids were laughing, smiling and enjoying it. I was amazed at how much fun they had today and how engaged they were when we got back to finish the activity."
