Teaching as a Profession students continued serving our wonderful Georgia Pre-K’s at Dahlonega Country Day. TAP students spent time in all three of DCD’s Pre-K classrooms. Thank you to our partners at DCD for giving them this opportunity.



Special thanks to the PROBE College Fair that came to campus on Monday. Students had the opportunity to interact with representatives from 45 difference colleges to learn about admission requirements, programs and career paths!






AP environmental science and honor environmental science classes learn about different energy sources through a fun speed dating activity.



Coach Howell's Forensics Classes worked on locating, dusting for, and collecting latent prints today from a variety of surfaces. Each student had the opportunity to create prints and use the fingerprint dusting method to collect them.






Our Lumpkin County Band of Gold competed against several bands from surrounding counties recently. The band put on their best performance yet, earning the following results:
Drum Majors: superior
Color guard: excellent
Percussion: excellent
Band: superior
2nd place Drum Majors in class AA
1st place Color Guard in class AA
1st place band in class AA
Silver Division (class A and AA) Champion in Band
Grand Champion in Silver Division (class A and AA)



Teaching as a Profession students read stories and assisted in math small group activities at White Oak Academy in celebration of Georgia PreK week. We are grateful to provide learning experiences for Lumpkin County PreK students and future teachers.






Lumpkin County Baseball was one of 36 colleges and high school programs in the state of Georgia to receive this honor. There were a total of 450 colleges and 300 high schools recognized nationally.

Local artist and retired UNG professor, Mr. Win Crannell visited all Lumpkin County High School art classes. Mr. Crannell spoke about his career as an artist and led a tree drawing workshop with students.


Release update from the LCHS Music Industry Program! Musicians Will and Jack McKinney and the Video Production duo of Harper Hubbard and Antony Ramirez have started their own weekly music video series. The team’s debut song is called “The Road Home”. We hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned for next week’s song “In Tall Buildings”.

Lumpkin County was well represented at the Gwinnett Co. Fair Livestock Show with Carver Bailey winning Grand Champion and Landon Caldwell bringing home Reserve Champion with their Shorthorn heifers. These young men are reaping the harvest of years of hard work involving livestock SAE projects! Shout out to Haylo Farms for investing in these young men.

Ms. Westafer’s Biology students investigate cells under the microscope just like scientists from 200 years ago! They identified differences between animal and plant cells and learned how to work a microscope like a professional!
