
Come and join the Lumpkin County's youth mountain biking team. This Saturday May 8th, at 9 AM, the team will be hosting an information sharing and test ride to see if you like it. The team consists of boys and girls, grades 6th-12th, of all skill levels. We will be meeting at the Black Branch Trailhead. Please bring a helmet, water, and signed waiver form. We had a wonderful time hosting our upcoming 6th Graders last week. Students toured our campus, met some of our staff, received information about our set up, and practiced opening a locker all in preparation for transition to Middle School. Parents/Guardians, be on the lookout for the Rising 6th Grade packet. This has significant information about department leads/who to contact, connection courses, clubs/sports information & more!


6th and 7th graders enjoyed celebrating Earth Day by planting loofahs
and making s’mores in solar ovens.


Grade 6 PE and Weight Training have been combining classes and focusing on strength and speed. Our kids have been working really hard and we are proud of them!

Attention: Rising 9th-graders - LCHS Health & Personal Fitness Summer Program Information


Last week, Mrs. Gossett's 6th-grade Virtual students joined the rest of the 6th-grade students in a food lab. They modeled the movement of tectonic plates using frosting and graham crackers at home. Who knew science could be fun and yummy!


Seventh-grade science students dissected owl pellets earlier this week as they talked about the flow of energy through organisms.


Greta Garbuzovas is ranked #1 in the country in folkstyle, she took home the title of the national champion from the USAW Girls Folkstyle National Championships. She is also the state champion for the 2021 Georgia Girls State Championship -Middle School division. Greta is undefeated in Team Georgia USA regular-season events against boys (same age/weight) and in her travels to out-of-state tournaments, she is undefeated wrestling girls from 6th to 12th grade.
LCMS is thrilled to have Greta as part of our community and cheer her on as she continues to train for upcoming Freestyle Season (Olympic style) plans to attend state in Jefferson GA and travel to TX for nationals.

Grade 7 students have been practicing annotating nonfiction articles in ELA ACE class. They turned their annotations into posters analyzing nonfiction articles and their features.


Laura Wilson's 6th Grade Honors Science Class tasted Kombu Seaweed Salad and learned about the sense of taste in class this week! Did you know that sea vegetables have many nutritional benefits? Ms. Wilson's students know that now thanks to this cool lesson!
